One of the best protein powders we've tested for the Ninja Creami. Exceptional texture, flavor, and macros — this one is hard to beat. Buy this one.
The Review
I’ll be the first to admit I went into this test with a healthy dose of skepticism; I’ve been burned by "cake" flavors before, and some of the CSE lineup hasn't always hit the mark for me. Birthday cake is a sacred flavor profile, but it’s notoriously difficult to get right, usually ending up either aggressively artificial or overwhelmingly sugary to compensate for a lack of actual depth. However, this Cake Batter was a pleasant surprise, showing a level of maturity you don't often find in this category. The flavor is remarkably clear and distinct without being overpowering, steering far away from that "synthetic frosting" aftertaste. It’s sweet, sure, but in a way that feels refined and intentional rather than an assault on the taste buds.
Technically, this powder is a dream for the Ninja Creami. The texture is exceptionally smooth, coming out of the first spin with zero icy patches or grit. I didn't have to bother with a full re-spin; after a quick scrape of the sides to handle the frost, a simple run on the mix-in setting brought it to a perfect, hard-serve consistency. What’s truly impressive is how well the flavor carries through despite the lean macro profile and relatively small serving size. Usually, a smaller scoop means a diluted experience, but this holds its own as a dense, creamy dessert that feels much more indulgent than the numbers suggest. If you want to lean into it, throw in a handful of sprinkles during the final spin—it’s an absolute staple for any cake lover.

About This Brand
Clean Simple Eats — #6 Brand · 6.3 avg
Clean Simple Eats gets a lot of hype, but the results don’t really back it up. Across the sampler, most flavors come out muted and one-note, lacking the punch you want in a Creami pint. The flavors are okay, but it really depends which ones. If want solid macros, good brand. If you're really looking for more authentic ice cream, still yet to be proven here.
