This powder hasn't impressed us in the Ninja Creami so far. Texture or flavor didn't quite land in the frozen base โ but it may still be great in a shake or other uses.
The Review
In the realm of Ninja Creami pints, plant-based protein powders frequently introduce texture complexities that require careful handling. KOS Strawberries & Cream is no exception, presenting a characteristic chalkiness and grittiness that suggests its pea-based protein blend. Despite attempts to achieve a desirable smoothness, the initial churn resulted in a dry, crumbly texture. This necessitated adding an extra splash of milk and performing a re-spin to reach a more palatable, albeit still imperfect, consistency. Users should anticipate needing these extra steps to mitigate the textural drawbacks.
Regarding flavor, the Strawberries & Cream profile is generally "just okay." It delivers a standard strawberry taste, reminiscent of what one would expect from a "natural flavor" descriptor. While not unpleasant or overtly artificial, it lacks the depth or richness that would make it truly decadent or craveable. The taste is good enough to be consumed, but it does not stand out as a premium or unique strawberry ice cream experience. It serves its purpose as a protein-enhanced dessert without offering a memorable flavor journey.

Plant Protein: More Challenging to Spin
Plant proteins are generally harder to spin smooth in the Ninja Creami. Pea protein can produce a slightly grainy or earthy texture, rice protein tends to be drier, and blends vary widely. Getting a creamy plant-based pint usually requires more recipe tweaking โ extra fat sources, gums, or a longer freeze time.
