A decent option for Ninja Creami protein ice cream. Works well enough, but there are better choices in the rankings. Decent option if it's on sale.
The Review
PEScience has long been a darling of the fitness community, often praised for its thoughtful formulations, so the expectations were high for this one. Upon the first spin in the Ninja Creami, the most striking feature is undoubtedly the impeccable, velvet-like texture. Plant-based powders are notorious for leaving a trail of sand on the tongue, but this blend defies the stereotype, churning into a luscious, creamy consistency that mimics dairy far better than its competitors. It’s rare to find a plant protein that doesn't feel like a compromise in the structural department, yet here we are with a base that is genuinely pleasant to scoop. However, the "Select" experience hits a snag the moment the flavor profile unfolds. Despite the brand's best efforts to mask it, the earthy, savory undertone of pea protein is stubbornly present, clinging to the palate with that signature "beany" persistence. The vanilla notes feel more like a polite suggestion than a bold statement. The lingering aftertaste is a reminder of its plant-based identity, though it does find redemption when paired with aggressive mix-ins; a handful of Oreos or a swirl of peanut butter effectively mutes the bean flavor. This one is acceptable for dedicated vegan who doesn't mind a little DIY flavor-masking.

About sweeteners →Pea + Rice BlendPlant Protein: More Challenging to Spin
Plant proteins are generally harder to spin smooth in the Ninja Creami. Pea protein can produce a slightly grainy or earthy texture, rice protein tends to be drier, and blends vary widely. Getting a creamy plant-based pint usually requires more recipe tweaking — extra fat sources, gums, or a longer freeze time.
