A decent option for Ninja Creami protein ice cream. Works well enough, but there are better choices in the rankings. Decent option if it's on sale.
The Review
Testing yet another plant-based vanilla usually feels like a chore, mostly because I’m prepared to spend the evening washing the taste of chalk and "earthiness" out of my mouth. Truvani, however, actually caught me off guard. Right out of the gate, the most striking thing is the total lack of grit. Most vegan powders feel like you’re eating flavored silt, but this processed into a remarkably smooth, consistent base that holds its own against many whey-based rivals. It’s a "clean" experience in every sense of the word—no weird chemical aftertaste and no lingering film on the roof of your mouth.
In terms of physics, this powder is a heavy hitter. It creates a serious thickness in the pint that mimics a dense, premium ice cream. Because this powder is such a natural thickener, you might want to go light on the Xanthan gum or other stabilizers in your base, otherwise, you risk it becoming a bit too gummy. While the first spin actually looks "done" and holds together well, you really need to hit that re-spin button to unlock its full potential. That second pass takes it from merely acceptable to a velvety, whipped luxury that feels substantial on the spoon. The only real trade-off is the flavor intensity. It’s clear and natural, sure, but it’s a bit shy and subtle, lacking that aggressive vanilla punch that cuts through the cold. It’s a sophisticated, "grown-up" pint that prioritizes a silky mouthfeel over a sugar rush. If you’re a plant-based devotee tired of drinking liquid sand, this is a massive upgrade.

About sweeteners →Pea ProteinPlant Protein: More Challenging to Spin
Plant proteins are generally harder to spin smooth in the Ninja Creami. Pea protein can produce a slightly grainy or earthy texture, rice protein tends to be drier, and blends vary widely. Getting a creamy plant-based pint usually requires more recipe tweaking — extra fat sources, gums, or a longer freeze time.
