A decent option for the Ninja Creami. Works well enough, but there are better choices in the rankings. Decent option if it's on sale.

The Review

There is a recurring frustration for those of us chasing the perfect chocolate pint: the "Frosty" effect. Too often, a powder that smells like a gourmet cocoa bar in the bag ends up tasting like watered-down chocolate milk once it’s been frozen and spun. I went into this test specifically looking for something that could break that cycle, and while this dark chocolate offering doesn't quite "knock your socks off" with intensity, it certainly brings a more robust and deep profile to the table than its peers. You can immediately tell this isn't your run-of-the-mill milk chocolate; there is a darker, slightly more bitter complexity that peeks through the cold, giving it a more premium feel than the standard "vaguely brown" flavors that dominate the market.

However, the laws of thermodynamics are difficult to cheat, and the freezing process still mutes that dark cocoa punch more than I’d like. It’s a clean, dark-leaning chocolate milk vibe rather than a decadent, high-percentage cacao explosion.

On the technical side, the performance is exactly what I look for in a daily driver. It plays perfectly with the standard Pint Lab recipe, resulting in a silky, uniform texture that lacks any chalkiness or grit. There were no processing hurdles to jump over here; it yields a consistent and predictable scoop every time.

If you are tired of overly sweet, artificial chocolate and want something with a bit more depth and character, this is a solid upgrade, even if it doesn't quite reach the level of "flavor powerhouse" I'm still hunting for.
