The Pint Lab Rankings

Best Protein Powders by flavor profile.

Not all protein powders make great high-protein ice cream in the Ninja Creami. The Pint Lab tests every powder in the same base recipe — same milk, same ingredients, same machine — and ranks them on flavor, texture, and overall pint quality.

The Pint Lab Method

One recipe. Endless flavors.

You don't need a new recipe every time you want a different flavor. Lock in the standard recipe once — then let the protein powder do the work. Vanilla Bean one week, Mint Chocolate the next, Cookies & Cream after that. Same effort, completely different pint.

It's the easiest way to keep your pint rotation fresh without reinventing the wheel every time. Pick a flavor you haven't tried yet. Spin it tonight.

How We Score

Every powder is tested in the same base recipe — same Fairlife 2% milk, same xanthan gum, same erythritol, same Ninja Creami machine. The score reflects flavor, texture, macros, and how well the powder performs as a frozen pint. It is not a shake score.

Score Tiers

Elite9.0 – 10

Best-in-class. Tastes like real ice cream. Buy this.

Top Shelf7.5 – 8.9

Excellent. Strong flavor, great texture. Highly recommended.

Solid6.0 – 7.4

Good but not exceptional. Works well, minor flaws.

Didn't LandBelow 6.0

Hasn't impressed us in the Creami so far. May still be great in a shake.
